Having mixed a passion for photography with his love of Nature since childhood, it was only natural that Ted Smith pursued both an education, and career, within both disciplines. A lifetime later and the passions have not diminished. In fact, the flame burns brighter than ever. Ted's work is always evolving, but is essentially about observing details, creating moods, and forging an intimate connection between the viewer and his subjects. His current home on a wildlife-friendly organic farm, on Manitoulin Island (Ontario, Canada), affords him the opportunity to spend time with many of his favourite subjects. Nature and photography... my two passions. From the time I could walk, my life has been immersed in Nature. By 8 years of age, a camera was a constant companion on my explorations. The more time I spent engaged in Nature photography, the more I loved it. Eventually, I obtained college diplomas in both professional photography and fish and wildlife technology. As the years have gone by, I've spent time working in both fields. The learning has never ended. The love for both also just continues to grow. My happiest times are still when I find myself lost in a field or a forest with Nature in all her glory around me... and my camera in hand. Thank you for sharing in this journey.
